Flying in:

If you are flying into the area you have 3 options for airports:

Madison (MSN) is a very easy, pleasant experience, and the airport is within the city - so once you arrive you are here!

Milwaukee (MKE) is a 90 minute drive from Madison (therefore a 3 hour drive direct to the cabin). Domestic flights might be cheaper to Milwaukee and there is a bus that you can catch to Madison from the airport.

Chicago O'hare (ORD) is a 2 hour drive from Madison (therefore a 3.5 hour drive direct to the cabin). International flights will be cheaper to Chicago, and there is a bus that you can catch to Madison from the airport. For international travelers who have not been to Chicago before, this might also be a nice way to see the city (please note Chicago is a pricey city to visit).

How should I get to the Wedding?

Once in Madison, you will need to drive to Richland County for the event on Saturday. We encourage carpooling, so please reach out to us and we will help match people who need rides to Richland Center. If interested, there are several car-rental options at the airport.

We have chartered a shuttle to bring people from the Center Lodge in Richland Center to the Wedding. Pick up at the motel will be at 4pm on Saturday, and you will return to the Center Lodge around 10:30pm. The Shuttle service is free but limited - if you are staying in Richland Center (at any hotel) you have priority, please let us know if you would like to use this service and we will reserve your spot!

We cant wait to see you in June!

Where is the wedding in June?

The wedding will be held at the Hanson family cabin in Richland County, Wisconsin.

The cabin is located a direct 90 minute drive from Madison, WI.

Here is a SIMPLE & DIRECT route to the cabin from Madison.

PLEASE TAKE A SCREEN SHOT AND FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS.

Directions from Madison:
Get onto University Avenue going West (away from Downtown).

Follow University ave - which turns into Highway 14 out of Madison.

Stay on Highway 14 for 55 miles, which brings you to Richland Center.

In Richland Center Turn RIGHT onto Highway 80 - go through town and stay on 80.

In 8 miles turn RIGHT on County Road D.

In 1/2 mile turn RIGHT on County Road DD.

In 1.5 miles turn RIGHT on Raintree Lane (this is a gravel road).

In 20 meters turn LEFT on Waxwing Lane (this is a gravel road).

Follow Waxwing Lane until you see the parking - choose DAY Parking or Camping Parking depending on your plans.

Walk to the wedding.

See google map location HERE.

PLEASE NOTE: WE SUGGEST HWY 14 for EASIEST ROUTE TO THE PARTY. (Google maps offers other, much more complicated routes we do not suggest unless you know the area well).

We encourage you to dress for the occasion, which means summer wedding attire, with comfortable shoes. The event will be in an open lawn, this means NO to spiky high heels and YES to sunscreen or a hat.

What's the Plan?

Here is a suggested itinerary for people unsure when to arrive and depart.

Thursday:

Casual Party at the house of Cass and Rafa for all out of town guests. We look forward to hosting any early guests  at our casita at 6pm.

Friday:

Enjoy Madison! We will send a list of suggested activities to all who arrive on Friday.

Saturday Morning:

We suggest the Madison Farmer's Market 8-12pm, located on the capitol square.

Saturday Midday:

Drive to Richland Center (90 minute drive) and either check-in to your motel or set up your campsite. Shuttle pick up will be at 4pm.

Wedding Ceremony! Starts at 5pm. Please arrive between 4-4:45pm.

Dinner: 6:30pm (WARNING: We have a DELICIOUS Vegetarian meal planned)

Drinks and Music: 7:30pm

Electronic DJ starts at 9:30pm.

Shuttle heads back to Richland Center at 10pm.

The Party continues...anyone who is staying past the shuttle, please choose to camp or find a designated driver that is comfortable driving in the country. We also suggest ear plugs if you don't plan on dancing all night.

Sunday Morning:

Coffee and bagels at the cabin. There will not be a shuttle this time. Followed by swimming in the neighbor's pond, this is a rustic swimming experience, but the water is clean and delightful - we encourage everyone to partake!

Sunday Afternoon:

Drive back to Madison, or depart home.

Where should I stay?

Motels in Richland Center:

The Center Lodge: We have a block of rooms reserved here. Ask for the "Hanson - Arevalo" party when booking.

Ramada Richland Center: Is almost booked. If you decide this is the place for you, book right away.

Park View Motel: A quaint old school motel in the heart of town, with a view of the park.

Or Enjoy Free Camping at the Cabin. The Camping will be rustic and near other people. Think the nicest Festival camping. If you plan to camp, please let us know by replying to the Save the Date or a direct message to us. Thanks!

Where should I stay in Madison?

Hampton Inn Downtown Madison is close to the UW campus, State Street, the Capitol and great restaurants. We are looking into getting a block of rooms for Friday night.

We also recommend searching Airbnb for more economic  options and sharing with friends and family if you are traveling on a budget.

Registry?

Nope!

We appreciate the time, effort and resources each of you are expending to attend our special day. We love each of you and feel blessed that you are in our lives. Thank you!

Juan is looking forward to meeting you!
