Summer

Sun. Fun. Summer embodies the sense of softening responsibility, while we often try to fit so much in. The days are longer - there is ample time, and unless it is stifling hot, we tend to have extra energy to do more. If you live in a region with long Winters, Summer can be the time jam-packed with activity, travel, and gatherings. Summer is a time to commune with friends, to explore new places and be free. It is a time for less: driving, clothing, work. And more: socializing, liquids, playing.

Practice deeper yoga, with slower movements, focusing on cooling and restoring the body. Summer is a good time to work deeper into backbends, as the body is more supple and ready for asana. Eat raw fruits and vegetables, ride bikes, cool off in water. Take breaks from over indulgence, and do some of the enjoying on your own.
